My Thoughts
Installation. The installation takes about one hour from start to finish. The directions are straight forward, all the parts fit perfectly and the fan is well balanced (no wobble during operation) right out of the box. This is a well made fan and all the parts are very high quality.
The Looks. This is a VERY good looking fan. It is a simple design with dark wood and an oil rubbed bronze finish. We installed two of these fans in rooms with ten foot high ceilings and they look fantastic. We chose this model because we have can lighting in the rooms and we did not need a fan with a light fixture. The Hunter Royal Oak Ceiling fan fits that requirement perfectly.
Functionality. This fan is very quiet and almost unnoticeable even on the highest setting. Since this is a slightly larger fan (60 inches) it moves a lot of air which is great for larger rooms such as a master bedroom.
Optional Controller. This fan comes with a wireless remote but I always find creative ways to lose it. One option to consider is buying and installing a hard wired Leviton Fan Speed Control or the Leviton Fan Speed Control with Dimmer. I have installed many of these rotary fan speed control modules and could not be happier with them. Now I don’t have to worry about losing the remote and it is only a $15 upgrade.
